Life Story for Charles Dunn
Charles L. Dunn, 97, of Springfield, passed to his heavenly home on Dec. 4, 2017, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Charleston, MO and lived throughout Southeast Missouri before moving to Springfield in 1966. He married his wife of 71 years, Nellene Triplett in 1941. He served in WWII as a Navy Seabee in the South Pacific Theater for 3 years. After military service, he worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for 35 years, retiring in 1982.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nellene and son Charles L. Dunn, Jr. Surviving him are three daughters, Susan Fink (Roger), Sally Matthews, Sarah Cowen (Jerry), daughter-in-law Mary Jane Dunn, 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, and one sister, Bettie Schatte (John).
The family will have a private celebration of his life Saturday evening and a graveside service will be held on Monday, December 11, 2017, 2:00 p.m. at Rivermonte Memorial Gardens under the care of Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at Rivermonte, 4500 S Lone Pine, Springfield, MO.
